CVSS v3.1 |
| Ash stores :atom-typed attributes as strings and compares them as strings. When such an attribute is referenced in a filter, the comparison value is coerced through Ash.Type.Atom. Because the type defined no coerce/2 callback, coercion fell back to the default (cast_input/2), which calls String.to_atom/1 when the attribute is configured with the unsafe_to_atom?: true constraint.
Filtering such an attribute with attacker-controlled strings therefore interned a new, permanent atom for every distinct value. Atoms are never garbage collected and the BEAM caps the atom table, so an actor who can supply filter values for a public, filterable :atom attribute declared with unsafe_to_atom?: true can exhaust the atom table and crash the node (denial of service). AshPaperTrail is a notable example: its version resources expose a public, filterable version_action_name atom attribute with unsafe_to_atom?: true by default.
The fix adds a coerce/2 to Ash.Type.Atom that never interns atoms — a comparison value is left as a string, since the type is stored and compared as a string. Setting the attribute from action input (cast_input/2, which still honors unsafe_to_atom?) is unchanged.
This issue affects ash: from 3.5.1 before 3.34.3. |
| A flaw was found in SSSD. An unprivileged local user can repeatedly request lookups for nonexistent entries through the Name Service Switch (NSS) responder. Because the negative cache does not limit the total number of stored entries and only removes expired records when an existing key is rechecked, the cache can grow without bound. This behavior can lead to memory exhaustion, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) as the responder becomes unresponsive or terminates. |
| Asymmetric resource consumption (amplification) vulnerability in Apache Struts. When a request parameter is bound to an arbitrary-precision decimal (java.math.BigDecimal) property that is then rendered through the Struts tag library, the framework can produce a response many orders of magnitude larger than the request, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to exhaust server CPU and outbound network capacity with sustained low-volume traffic. Applications that do not bind request parameters to BigDecimal properties, or never render such a property through the Struts tag library, are not affected.
This issue affects Apache Struts: from 2.5.14 through 2.5.33, from 6.0.0 through 6.11.0, from 7.0.0 through 7.3.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.12.0 or 7.4.0, which fixes the issue. |
| Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in the Elixir standard library's Version module allows an attacker who controls a version string to cause a denial of service through CPU and memory exhaustion.
The version parser converts numeric version components (major, minor, patch and numeric pre-release/build identifiers) to integers without bounding their length. A single large all-digit component therefore forces a super-linear, non-yielding base-10 to arbitrary-precision integer conversion (String.to_integer/1, i.e. :erlang.binary_to_integer/1) that pins a BEAM scheduler, and a larger component raises an uncaught SystemLimitError that crashes the calling process. A single moderately sized string (around one megabyte) is enough; no authentication is required.
This is reachable from the public entry points Version.parse/1, Version.parse!/1, Version.match?/3, Version.compare/2, and Version.parse_requirement/1, which applications routinely call on untrusted input such as HTTP parameters, dependency-manifest fields, and package metadata.
This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/version.ex and program routines 'Elixir.Version.Parser':parse_digits/2.
This issue affects elixir: from 0.9.3 before 1.20.1. |
| Mooncake transfer engine through 0.3.13.post1 contains a memory exhaustion vulnerability in TransferMetadata::receivePeerNotify that allows unauthenticated attackers to grow process memory without limit. Attackers can repeatedly send notify frames up to 1 MB to the handshake RPC port, filling the uncapped notifys vector until the out-of-memory killer terminates the engine. |
| Zod schema-validation library through 4.6.5 contains an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability that allows attackers to exhaust memory by submitting a large array to an application using an array schema without a length constraint. Attackers can exploit the handleArrayResult parse logic in $ZodArray, which accumulates every validation issue for each failing element with no cap or early termination, causing the process to allocate excessive issue objects and crash due to out-of-memory conditions. |
| A denial-of-service and resource exhaustion vulnerability exists within the `GDBus` component of GLib. The `gdbusauth` authentication mechanism fails to enforce proper length limitations on data lines read from a client. An unauthenticated local or remote attacker can exploit this lack of input validation by sending excessively long streams of data, causing the application to consume massive amounts of system memory and CPU, potentially leading to a crash or system hang. |
| vLLM is an inference and serving engine for large language models. Prior to 0.30.0, the Rust frontend's track_http_metrics middleware records the raw HTTP method token as a Prometheus label for requests reaching registered routes. An unauthenticated attacker can send unique arbitrary method tokens to unguarded routes such as /tokenize, causing Prometheus's Family::get_or_create function to permanently create counter and histogram label sets. Those label sets increase process memory usage and enlarge the /metrics response until the service or monitoring path is exhausted. This issue is fixed in version 0.30.0. |
| Pexip Infinity 30.0 through 40.x before 41.0 is affected by improper input validation in the web server that allows a malicious attacker to render a Pexip Infinity node inaccessible. |
| Pexip Infinity before 41.0 is affected by improper input validation in the signaling implementation which allows a remote attacker to trigger a software abort resulting in a denial of service. Exploitation of this issue requires accessing a gateway call from a WebRTC/API client. |
| Denial-of-service in the SVG component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 156, Firefox ESR 153.3, Thunderbird 156, and Thunderbird 153.3. |
| Memory allocation with excessive size value vulnerability in Apache Directory LDAP API.
A malicious peer (or a MITM) can send a small BER-encoded response causing a large memory allocation before any data is received. This can lead to an OutOfMemoryError and denial of service.
The client JVM OOMs (OutOfMemoryError bypasses the DecoderException handlers) or pins the large allocation per connection while the attacker stalls.
A handful of connections exhausts any heap. The same bytes from an unauthenticated pre-bind client hit any embedding server that did not set MAX_PDU_SIZE_ATTR.
This issue affects Apache Directory LDAP API: from 1.2.0 before 1.2.9.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.2.9, which fixes the issue. |
| Denial-of-service in the Security component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 156, Firefox ESR 153.3, Thunderbird 156, and Thunderbird 153.3. |
| Denial-of-service in the Audio/Video component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 156 and Thunderbird 156. |
| Plane is an open-source project management tool. Prior to 1.4.0, GET /api/users/api-tokens/ allows an authenticated user to retrieve API-token records, while PATCH /api/users/api-tokens/{token_id}/ allows the user to modify the token's allowed_rate_limit field without server-side validation or a maximum value. A user can raise the limit arbitrarily and bypass intended API rate-limiting controls, enabling high-volume automated requests, backend resource abuse, and possible resource exhaustion. This issue is fixed in 1.4.0. |
| A pre-authentication attacker could leverage type size/count handling to cause excessive allocation leading to potential denial of service.
This issue affects Apache Qpid Broker-J: through 10.1.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 10.1.1, which fixes the issue. |
| A pre-authentication attacker could leverage type size/count handling to cause excessive allocation leading to potential denial of service.
This issue affects Apache Qpid Broker-J: through 10.1.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 10.1.1, which fixes the issue. |
| A pre-authentication attacker could leverage type nesting to cause a StackOverflowError potentially leading to denial of service.
This issue affects Apache Qpid Broker-J: through 10.1.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 10.1.1, which fixes the issue. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.16.1, an attacker can craft a PDF that causes pypdf/_page.py PageObject._extract_text and PageObject.extract_xform_text to traverse a directed acyclic graph of reused form XObjects in which each form invokes a child multiple times, creating exponentially many traversal paths and causing long runtimes and large memory consumption. This issue is fixed in version 6.16.1. |
| pypdf is a free and open-source pure-python PDF library. Prior to 6.16.1, an attacker can craft a PDF that causes pypdf/_doc_common.py _get_outline to consume long runtimes and large amounts of memory when retrieving document outlines with large numbers of entries or deeply nested reused paths because the traversal lacked global entry-count and nesting-depth limits. This issue is fixed in version 6.16.1. |
