CVSS v3.1 |
| As part of Cisco's ongoing commitment to proactive security and product quality, the Cisco NX-OS engineering team has conducted a comprehensive internal security review. This review resulted in a software hardening release that addresses multiple internally discovered vulnerabilities.
The vulnerabilities tracked by CVE-2026-76457 are related to out-of-bounds read issues that are grouped under the Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) CWE-125. |
| The Bluetooth Mesh On-Demand Private Proxy solicitation handler in subsys/bluetooth/mesh/solicitation.c copies a received Solicitation PDU into a fixed 17-byte stack buffer without bounding the source length. In sol_pdu_decrypt(), out is allocated as NET_BUF_SIMPLE(17) and then filled with net_buf_simple_add_mem(out, in->data, in->len); net_buf_simple_add() guards its tailroom only with __ASSERT_NO_MSG, which is compiled out in production builds, so when in->len > 17 the underlying memcpy writes attacker-controlled bytes past the 17-byte stack buffer. The copy occurs before any decryption or authentication, so no key material is required to trigger it.
The oversized length arises because the mesh scan callback in subsys/bluetooth/mesh/adv.c calls net_buf_simple_restore() before dispatching to bt_mesh_sol_recv(), leaving buf->len covering the entire remaining advertising payload rather than just the Solicitation Service Data. After the parser locates the Service Data AD and consumes the Identification Type byte, the remaining buf->len is the 17-octet Network PDU plus any trailing advertising bytes, and prior to this fix there was no maximum-length check (only a minimum). An attacker can therefore append extra AD structures or padding after the Solicitation Service Data to make buf->len exceed 17.
bt_mesh_scan_cb() is registered directly as the BLE scan callback, so buf is raw, unauthenticated advertising data received over the air. Any device in radio range can send a non-connectable advertisement carrying a crafted mesh Proxy Solicitation to a node that has CONFIG_BT_MESH_OD_PRIV_PROXY_SRV enabled and is currently eligible to be solicited (GATT proxy disabled, On-Demand Private Proxy enabled), with no pairing, bonding, or provisioning. The result is an attacker-controlled stack overwrite — plausibly leading to remote code execution and at minimum a reliable remote denial of service. The fix trims buf->len to the spec-fixed 17 octets (dropping the PDU if fewer remain) before decryption. |
| Express Gateway through 1.16.11 contains a hardcoded cryptographic key vulnerability that allows attackers with datastore access to decrypt stored OAuth 2.0 token secrets via the default crypto.cipherKey 'sensitiveKey'. Attackers who can read Redis can decrypt tokenEncrypted values and combine them with stored token IDs to obtain valid bearer tokens for any user. |
| A flaw has been found in XnView Classic 2.52.5. Impacted is an unknown function of the component FLI File Parser. This manipulation of the argument starting_line causes heap-based buffer overflow. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. Upgrading to version 2.52.6 is recommended to address this issue. Upgrading the affected component is advised. |
| Insufficient input validation leading to memory overread when the NetScaler is configured as a Gateway (VPN virtual server, ICA Proxy, CVPN, RDP Proxy) OR AAA virtual server |
| Out of bounds read in ANGLE in Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39 allowed a remote attacker to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57, a crafted PSD file can trigger an integer-conversion error in the PSD decoder on 32-bit builds, causing an infinite loop and denial of service. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-31, a client connected to the distributed pixel cache server can send crafted pixel data that triggers an integer-size calculation error and a heap buffer overwrite, crashing the server. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-31. |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32, a crafted EXR image can cause the EXR decoder to write beyond a heap buffer, causing the process to crash. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-32. |
| Telegram Desktop before 7.2.9 contains an IPC record-separator injection vulnerability in Core::Sandbox that allows remote attackers to inject OPEN: records via crafted tg:// links containing unescaped semicolons. Attackers can reach the interpret: scheme handler to upload local files, including tdata session keys, to an attacker channel, enabling account takeover. |
| In ssh-keygen in OpenSSH before 10.6, certificates could have incorrect expiration times because of Daylight Saving mishandling. There can be a slightly more severe effect on users in certain Antarctic locations. |
| The CakeResponse::download() method in lib/Cake/Network/CakeResponse.php constructs a Content-Disposition header by directly interpolating a caller-supplied filename into a quoted-string value without sanitization. Two distinct injection vectors exist in the unpatched code. First, if the filename contains C0 control characters (CR or LF), PHP refuses to emit the entire Content-Disposition header, silently dropping the attachment disposition. The response body is then served with its own Content-Type (for example text/html for an .html attachment) and renders inline in the browser on the application origin, creating a stored cross-site scripting condition. The commit message notes this is reachable even when the download_attachments_on_load setting is enabled, meaning a victim merely needs to view a page that triggers the download. Second, a double-quote character in the filename terminates the quoted-string value early, permitting injection of additional Content-Disposition parameters. The affected code path covers all callers of CakeResponse::download(), including attribute downloads, proposal downloads, and restSearch exports. An authenticated user who can create or upload an attachment with a crafted filename (for example through MISP attribute naming or proposal attachment naming) can store the malicious filename. When any other authenticated user views the affected page, the unsanitized filename is reflected into the HTTP response header, resulting in header manipulation and potential execution of arbitrary HTML or JavaScript in the context of the application origin. The security impact is equivalent to a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability, allowing session hijacking, data exfiltration, and unauthorized actions on behalf of the victim. |
| An HTTP header injection vulnerability in start-page-loader.cgi of ADM allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to read arbitrary files on the host system. By sending a crafted HTTP request with injected headers via the state parameter, the attacker can leverage the underlying web server's X-Sendfile mechanism to retrieve sensitive files without authentication.
Affected products and versions include: from ADM 4.1.0 through ADM 4.3.3.RWC1 as well as from ADM 5.0.0 through ADM 5.1.4.RL21. |
| Improper Neutralization of Null Byte or NUL Character vulnerability in the OutputDebugStringAppender of Apache log4net.
A NUL character in logged content ended the debug output record at that point, so everything the layout rendered after it, including exception text and trailing fields, was silently lost. A party whose data reaches a log message could hide the rest of that record. Only applications on Windows that use OutputDebugStringAppender are affected.
This issue affects Apache log4net: from 1.2.9 before 3.5.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.5.0, which fixes the issue. |
| Out of bounds read in the firmware for some Intel(R) Processors may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/hugetlb: preserve mremap address delta when skipping page tables
move_hugetlb_page_tables() optimizes mremap() by advancing to the last
entry in the page table when the source page table does not exist, either
initially or after unsharing a PMD table. The common loop increment then
steps to the first entry in the next page table.
However, the code advances both the source and destination addresses to
the last entries in their respective page tables, which is wrong. The
destination address must be advanced only by the same amount as the source
address.
If the source and destination offsets within their page tables differ, the
destination address can be advanced too far, causing follow-up issues.
Fix this by advancing the destination address by the source advance
distance.
With a reproducer, we were able to trigger a kernel panic on x86-64. With
this fix in place, we can no longer reproduce the issue. |
| libexpat before commit 13c5f63 contains a heap buffer over-read vulnerability in xmlparse.c. XML_ParseBuffer advances the parse buffer end with parser->m_bufferEnd += len using a caller-supplied length that is not validated against the allocated buffer size, so repeated XML_ParseBuffer calls move m_bufferEnd past the end of the heap allocation and subsequent parsing reads out of bounds. Reaching this path requires a parse buffer to already be present; otherwise XML_ParseBuffer returns XML_ERROR_NO_BUFFER. A buffer is present after a prior call to XML_GetBuffer, either directly (the common case) or indirectly through a prior XML_Parse call that allocates the buffer internally. The over-read discloses adjacent heap memory to the calling application, recovering heap pointers, libc function pointers, and code pointers sufficient to defeat ASLR and build further exploitation primitives. |
| Improper Handling of Unicode Encoding vulnerability in the SmtpPickupDirAppender of Apache log4net.
Content that the mail file writer cannot encode, such as an unpaired UTF-16 surrogate, made the write throw. Every buffered event in the batch was discarded, not only the one carrying the content, and a truncated mail could be left in the pickup directory. A party whose data reaches a log message could suppress the records of other events. Only applications that use SmtpPickupDirAppender are affected.
This issue affects Apache log4net: from 1.2.9 before 3.5.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.5.0, which fixes the issue. |
| A flaw was found in SSSD. In trust-enabled identity management environments, SSSD evaluates Host-Based Access Control (HBAC) rules by stripping domain qualifiers and comparing only short usernames. An authenticated user in a trusted domain who shares the same username as an authorized local account can bypass access policies and gain unauthorized access to protected services or hosts. |
| In multiple functions of PduParser.java, there is a possible persistent denial of service due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to remote denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. |
