CVE-2026-98361 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-07 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Restore HMM_PFN_WRITE check in ODP write paths Commit 0b261d7c1cd3 ("RDMA/rxe: Break endless pagefault loop for RO pages") dropped the access permission test from rxe_check_pagefault() and left only HMM_PFN_VALID. A page faulted in read-only, for example a page-cache folio behind a PROT_READ file mapping, then satisfies the check and ODP write operations (RDMA WRITE, RDMA READ response, SEND payload, atomics) modify it through kmap without ever breaking CoW. An unprivileged user can register an ODP MR over such a mapping and have incoming RDMA traffic overwrite the page cache of a file it only holds O_RDONLY, including /etc/passwd or setuid binaries. This is the same primitive class as Dirty COW and CVE-2022-2590. mlx5 has the missing invariant: its ODP path sets the device write bit only for pfns that carry HMM_PFN_WRITE. Restore it in rxe by requiring HMM_PFN_WRITE in rxe_check_pagefault() for every operation except RXE_PAGEFAULT_RDONLY. A write to a non-writable VMA now fails the one fault attempt with -EPERM from hmm_vma_fault() instead of re-faulting forever. For a writable VMA the fault breaks CoW and the write lands in the private page. Keep pmem flushes on the read-only check. arch_wb_cache_pmem() never modifies memory, and the FLUSH access bits do not make the umem writable, so classifying flushes as writes would make every flush against a flush-only MR fail.
CVE-2026-95106 1 Gitea 1 Gitea 2026-10-07 N/A
Gitea accepted pushed Git trees containing two entries with the same name, which Git's own consistency checks reject. Gitea's web views resolved such a path to the first entry, while `git checkout`, Gitea Actions, and release archives use the last. A contributor could open a pull request whose diff and file views show benign content while CI and checkouts at the same commit use different, attacker-controlled content. Incoming objects are now checked for consistency; objects already stored in existing repositories are not rescanned.
CVE-2026-106492 2026-10-07 7.6 High
Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 0.16.1 and 0.17.8, the @backstage/backend-defaults package is affected by improper preservation of access restrictions during service credential delegation. An external service credential configured with access restrictions (e.g., read-only) could bypass those restrictions by routing requests through plugin delegation paths. This could allow a restricted service to perform operations beyond its intended scope, including write operations on plugins it was restricted to read-only access for. This issue is fixed in versions 0.16.1 and 0.17.8.
CVE-2026-93786 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-03 8.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ksmbd: preserve VFS inherited POSIX ACL mask The VFS initializes a child's POSIX ACL from the parent's default ACL and the requested creation mode. Do not mutate the parent ACL or overwrite the child's VFS-computed access and default ACLs afterwards. This preserves restrictive ACL_MASK entries and prevents SMB object creation from widening effective permissions.
CVE-2026-47489 1 Nvidia 7 Geforce, Guest Driver, Nvs and 4 more 2026-10-01 7.8 High
NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Linux contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where permissions on read-only memory might not be preserved. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering.
CVE-2026-47601 1 Nvidia 5 Geforce, Nvs, Quadro and 2 more 2026-10-01 7.8 High
NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows and Linux contains a vulnerability in the open-source kernel module DMA-BUF import path where an unprivileged local user could cause improper preservation of memory access permissions when importing a read-only buffer from another device's DMA-BUF exporter. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, escalation of privileges, denial of service, information disclosure, and data tampering.
CVE-2026-47595 1 Nvidia 6 Geforce, Guest Driver, Nvs and 3 more 2026-10-01 7.8 High
NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Linux contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where an unprivileged user can write to read-only memory because the memory's permissions are not preserved. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, escalation of privileges, denial of service, information disclosure, and data tampering.
CVE-2026-47599 1 Nvidia 5 Geforce, Nvs, Quadro and 2 more 2026-10-01 7.8 High
NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Linux contains a vulnerability in the open-source kernel module where an unprivileged local user could cause improper preservation of memory access permissions during DMA mapping. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, escalation of privileges, denial of service, information disclosure, and data tampering.
CVE-2026-47596 1 Nvidia 6 Geforce, Guest Driver, Nvs and 3 more 2026-09-30 7 High
NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Linux contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where an unprivileged user can write to read-only memory because the memory's permissions are not preserved. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution and escalation of privileges.
CVE-2026-102673 1 Electron 1 Electron 2026-09-30 8.2 High
Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to 41.10.4, 42.5.2, and 43.0.0, popups opened from a sandboxed iframe through Electron's OpenURLFromTab navigation path, including links using target="_blank" or a middle-click, did not receive the inherited HTML sandbox restrictions. An untrusted iframe using the allow-scripts allow-popups configuration could therefore open a popup with the embedding application's full origin, exposing that origin's cookies, storage, and same-origin scripting capabilities. Applications that do not embed untrusted content in sandboxed iframes are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 41.10.4, 42.5.2, and 43.0.0.
CVE-2026-102674 1 Electron 1 Electron 2026-09-30 8.2 High
Electron is a framework for writing cross-platform desktop applications using JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Prior to 41.10.6, 42.9.2, 43.4.1, and 44.0.0-beta.5, windows opened from a sandboxed top-level document did not inherit that document's active HTML sandbox restrictions. Untrusted content in a sandboxed top-level document that was permitted to open popups could therefore create a window with the Electron application's full origin instead of the restricted origin intended by the sandbox. Applications that deny such popups with setWindowOpenHandler are not affected. This issue is fixed in versions 41.10.6, 42.9.2, 43.4.1, and 44.0.0-beta.5.
CVE-2026-97547 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-29 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: fix exchange-range reflink flag clearing issue with INO1_WRITTEN When exchanging two full-file ranges, xmi_can_exchange_reflink_flags() can move the reflink inode flag from the file that currently has it to the other file, as long as exactly one side is marked. This assumes that the file contents, and therefore all shared extents, are exchanged. That assumption is not true when XFS_EXCHMAPS_INO1_WRITTEN is set. xfs_exchmaps_can_skip_mapping() can skip hole and unwritten mappings from file1, so an exchange can complete without moving every mapping that the earlier flag-swap decision accounted for. In that case the post-operation cleanup can clear the reflink flag from an inode that still owns shared written extents. Later writes then take the non-reflink write path and may update blocks that should still have been protected by CoW, which shows up as data corruption between reflink-related files. Fix this by disabling the reflink flag exchange whenever XFS_EXCHMAPS_INO1_WRITTEN is requested. The contents exchange can still proceed; the conservative outcome is that both inodes keep the reflink flag. The regular reflink flag cleanup path can drop the extra flag later once the inode no longer has shared extents.
CVE-2026-93658 1 Uutils 1 Coreutils 2026-09-22 7 High
uutils coreutils versions before 0.10.0 apply setuid or setgid mode to install destinations before finalizing ownership changes, allowing privileged users to leave setuid executables owned by the privileged invoker when ownership changes fail. Attackers can execute leftover setuid files with elevated privileges when ownership change operations fail on capability-restricted systems.
CVE-2026-88922 1 Hashicorp 1 Shared Library 2026-09-20 6.7 Medium
The go-getter library up to versions 1.8.8 and 2.2.3 is vulnerable to a privilege escalation issue in its archive decompression handling that may allow a crafted archive to cause extracted files to be created with elevated permission bits. Where extraction is performed by a privileged user, this may allow a local actor to obtain the privileges of the extracting process. This vulnerability (CVE-2026-88922) is fixed in go-getter 1.8.9 and 2.2.4.
CVE-2026-61709 1 Openfga 1 Openfga 2026-09-18 5.3 Medium
OpenFGA is an authorization and permission engine built for developers. Prior to 1.18.1, the ListUsers API could return a user that should have been excluded when an authorization relation used an intersection containing a base but not excluded operand, the base was granted through a type-bound public wildcard, and the excluded user also had a concrete tuple through another intersection operand. In pkg/server/commands/listusers/list_users_rpc.go, expandIntersection counted the concrete tuple and wildcard without first rejecting entries in excludedUsersMap. Applications that used ListUsers to enumerate or enforce access could therefore treat an excluded user as authorized. This issue is fixed in version 1.18.1.
CVE-2026-82964 2026-09-17 8.8 High
Improper preservation of permissions in the Avast sandbox minifilter driver (aswSnx.sys) on Windows allows a local, low-privileged attacker executing inside the sandbox to escape file isolation and escalate to SYSTEM. When the sandbox virtualizes a file it copies the original security descriptor, but the driver opened the virtualization target object with GENERIC_WRITE and FILE_WRITE_ATTRIBUTES only, omitting WRITE_DAC. Every attempt to apply the original DACL therefore failed, and the failure was discarded silently, leaving virtualized copies of sensitive files with permissive permissions. Because the IRP_MJ_CREATE callback additionally did not strip WRITE_DAC for sensitive directories, a sandboxed process could rewrite the security descriptor of a virtualized object, read the virtualized copy of the SAM database, extract local NTLM password hashes and execute code as SYSTEM. The absence of an IRP_MJ_SET_SECURITY callback in the driver's operation registration table is a related defense-in-depth gap, but it is not the control that prevents this attack.
CVE-2026-88016 1 Rclone 1 Rclone 2026-09-15 7.1 High
rclone is a command-line program to sync files and directories to and from different cloud storage providers. Prior to 1.75.1, when backend/local runs with --links, a source .rclonelink object can plant a symlink in the destination and later directory metadata is applied through that path. MkdirMetadata, writeMetadataToFile, and setTimes operate when Directory.translatedLink=false, so os.Chown, os.Chmod, os.Chtimes, and birth-time handling can bypass os.Root confinement and follow the symlink. An attacker controlling source contents can therefore apply selected ownership, permissions, modification times, or birth times to a file or directory outside the destination, with --metadata required for chmod and chown while modification time is applied by the normal directory workflow. This issue is fixed in version 1.75.1.
CVE-2026-39832 1 Golang 2 Crypto, Ssh 2026-09-15 9.1 Critical
When adding a key to a remote agent constraint extensions such as restrict-destination-v00@openssh.com were not serialized in the request. Destination restrictions were silently stripped when forwarding keys, allowing unrestricted use of the key on the remote host. The client now serializes all constraint extensions. Additionally, the in-memory keyring returned by NewKeyring() now rejects keys with unsupported constraint extensions instead of silently ignoring them.
CVE-2026-89638 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-13 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: clear setuid/setgid bit on write with cifsacl/modefromsid/posix extensions When a file has the setuid or setgid bit set and is written to, the VFS strips those bits and issues a setattr with ATTR_KILL_SUID/ATTR_KILL_SGID together with an ATTR_MODE carrying the already-cleared mode. Both cifs_setattr_unix() and cifs_setattr_nounix() unconditionally dropped ATTR_MODE in that case: /* skip mode change if it's just for clearing setuid/setgid */ if (attrs->ia_valid & (ATTR_KILL_SUID|ATTR_KILL_SGID)) attrs->ia_valid &= ~ATTR_MODE; This is fine for the default mount, where the mode is only emulated via the DOS read-only attribute and cannot represent the setuid/setgid bits anyway. However, with the "cifsacl" or "modefromsid" mount options the mode is stored on the server through an ACL (id_mode_to_cifs_acl()), with the SMB3.1.1 POSIX extensions the mode is sent to the server directly, and with the SMB1 Unix extensions (cifs_setattr_unix) the mode is sent via CIFSSMBUnixSetPathInfo(). In all those cases dropping ATTR_MODE means the cleared mode is never pushed to the server, so the setuid/setgid bit survives the write. This is a security issue: on local filesystems the setuid bit is stripped when a file is written, but over these cifs.ko mounts the bit persists on the server, potentially allowing an unexpected privilege escalation on subsequent execution. Fix this in two places: 1. cifs_setattr_nounix(): only take the "skip mode change" shortcut when the mode is emulated via the DOS read-only attribute (i.e. neither cifsacl/modefromsid nor the SMB3.1.1 POSIX extensions are in effect), so that the cleared mode is propagated to the server in the ACL / POSIX cases. 2. cifs_setattr_unix(): this function is only called when Unix extensions are in effect, so the mode is always stored on the server. Remove the shortcut entirely so that the cleared mode is always pushed.
CVE-2026-39828 1 Golang 2 Crypto, Ssh 2026-09-11 6.3 Medium
When an SSH server authentication callback returned PartialSuccessError with non-nil Permissions, those permissions were silently discarded, potentially dropping certificate restrictions such as force-command after a second factor succeeded. Returning non-nil Permissions with PartialSuccessError now results in a connection error.
