CVSS v3.1 |
The OpenAI-compatible file upload endpoint `/v1/files` in Langchain-Chatchat 0.3.0 is vulnerable to path traversal. An attacker can write files to arbitrary locations outside the `openai_files` directory by crafting malicious filenames.
A path traversal vulnerability exists in the EmailSheet extract_parts functionality of VisiData (version(s): dev (commit 38b21f78)). A specially crafted .eml file can lead to arbitrary file write. An attacker can provide a malicious file to trigger this vulnerability.
A path traversal vulnerability exists in the unzip_http RemoteZipFile extract functionality of VisiData (version(s): dev (commit 38b21f78)). A specially crafted .zip file can lead to arbitrary file write. An attacker can provide a crafted URL to trigger this vulnerability.
| Claude Code validated that a target file path resided within the project working directory at permission-check time, but re-resolved the path at write time without repeating that validation. This time-of-check to time-of-use (TOCTOU) gap allowed an attacker who could write to the workspace to atomically replace a project file with a symlink, causing Claude Code to follow the symlink and write its output to an arbitrary file outside the project sandbox. Exploitation required the ability to win a race condition against the write operation and write access to the shared workspace, enabling a lower-privileged attacker to redirect benign edits to sensitive files (e.g., shell configuration) in a higher-privileged session.
Users on standard Claude Code auto-update have received this fix already. Users performing manual updates are advised to update to the latest version.
Thank you to hackerone.com/c_h4ck_0 for reporting this issue. |
A Zip Slip vulnerability in the in the SMA1000 Appliance Management Console (AMC) interface allows an attacker to extract files outside the intended destination directory using a specially crafted archive, resulting in remote code execution.
Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 0.3.25, the @backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown package is affected by improper repository path validation in a scaffolder backend module. An authenticated user who can execute an affected template and control its repository file location may cause generated content to be written outside the task workspace, within locations writable by the Backstage backend process. This issue is fixed in version 0.3.25.
Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. Prior to 0.3.25, the @backstage/plugin-scaffolder-backend-module-confluence-to-markdown package is affected by improper input validation in confluence to markdown scaffolder module. Insufficient input validation in the Confluence to Markdown scaffolder module could allow an attacker to influence file write operations during template execution. Exploitation requires a Backstage user to run a template that processes attacker-influenced Confluence content. This issue is fixed in version 0.3.25.
A Kiteworks appliance setup interface did not confine a user-supplied file path to its intended directory, which could allow an unauthenticated attacker to write a file to any location writable by the affected service account, potentially compromising the integrity of the appliance or rendering it unavailable until an operator intervenes. Exploitation requires network access to the affected interface, which is not reachable on a fully configured appliance in its default configuration; reaching it depends on either the transient window while an appliance is first being provisioned or a non-default appliance configuration.
Kiteworks Core before version 9.5.0 is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Write. An improper restriction of a user-supplied file path in a Kiteworks administrative export feature could allow an authenticated administrator to write a file to an arbitrary location on the underlying host, potentially leading to command execution on the appliance. Exploitation requires an existing, authenticated administrative account with access to the affected export function.
This vulnerability in Veeam Backup & Replication allows an authenticated Cloud Connect tenant to read arbitrary files on the service provider host.
Feehi CMS 2.1.1 is vulnerable to Directory Traversal. An authenticated backend user with article edit permission can delete arbitrary files writable by the PHP process. Article image metadata is used to construct a filesystem path and is passed to `unlink()` without path traversal or directory validation.
Devika v1.0 is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in the Coder.save_code_to_project function, which allows attackers to write files outside the intended project workspace.
langflow-ai langflow v1.8.4 is affected by: Directory Traversal. The impact is: Arbitrary file write outside the intended workspace or storage boundary.. The component is: src/backend/base/langflow/api/v1/knowledge_bases.py:knowledge_bases-create_knowledge_base-a-live-http-post-to-create-knowledge-base. The attack vector is: Attack surface: HTTP or browser-backed service path. A public-facing upload or HTTP route handler forwards an attacker-controlled path or filename into host file creation without any visible boundary enforcement. ΒΆΒΆ A weakness has been identified in langflow-ai langflow up to 1.8.4. langflow contains an absolute path traversal vulnerability in knowledge_bases-create_knowledge_base-a-live-http-post-to-create-knowledge-base (src/backend/base/langflow/api/v1/knowledge_bases.py:51). An attacker can write or overwrite files outside the intended working directory by providing absolute paths in the knowledge base creation endpoint.
WookTeam v1.6.6 and before is vulnerable to a Directory Traversal. The project task export endpoint /api/project/task/export downloads an arbitrary file from the server when the data parameter is supplied with a crafted JSON payload. The file value inside the JSON is concatenated directly into storage_path($file) without any path normalization or directory boundary check, so directory traversal (../) escapes the storage/ directory and response()->download() streams any file readable by the web server process.
ApiAdmin v5.0 and before is vulnerable to Directory Traversal. The admin file-upload endpoint POST /admin/Index/upload in ApiAdmin takes the uploaded file's extension verbatim there is no whitelist, blacklist or content check and move_uploaded_file() drops the file into the web-accessible directory public/upload/Ymd/. Any logged-in admin user can upload a .php file and reach it directly over HTTP, achieving remote code execution on the server.
A flaw was found in pulp-rpm when it publishes a distribution tree. Addon and variant ids from .treeinfo are used as directory names. A user who can sync or upload that tree can make the publish task create a new directory outside the task work area and write that tree's repository metadata and packages there, as the Pulp worker user. An existing file or directory is not replaced. The flaw does not disclose data and does not stop the service.
Rundeck before 6.2.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows users holding only the project configure ACL to read arbitrary server files by setting resources.source.N.config.file to any absolute path. Attackers can retrieve file contents through editProjectNodeSourceFile or the apiSourceGetContent endpoint to obtain database passwords, LDAP bind credentials, and other projects' data.
Dell System Update, versions prior to 2.3.0.0, contains an Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Remote execution.
Payload is a free and open source headless content management system. In versions before 3.90.0 and canary versions before 4.0.0-canary.34, an authenticated user who can update or delete uploads stored locally can cause file cleanup to remove unintended files outside the configured upload directory, resulting in data loss or service disruption. Deployments that restrict upload management to trusted users are less exposed. This issue is fixed in versions 3.90.0 and 4.0.0-canary.34.
ImageSharp is a 2D graphics library. From 4.0.0 until 4.1.2, ExrBaseDecompressor.UndoZipCompression accepts a nonempty ZIP or ZIPS inflate result that is shorter than the EXR block's required size. ZipExrCompression.Decompress reconstructs the returned prefix while ExrDecoderCore processes the full expected block from a buffer obtained through Configuration.Default, allowing bytes retained from a completed prior ImageSharp operation to appear in decoded pixels. Applications that expose pixels or output from the later attacker-controlled EXR decode can disclose process-local image data. This issue is fixed in version 4.1.2.
