Use after free in Contextual Tasks in Google Chrome on on Windows prior to 154.0.8037.97 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
CVE-2026-103622 1 Google 1 Chrome 2026-10-05 8.8 High
Use after free in SVG in Google Chrome prior to 154.0.8037.97 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
CVE-2026-73512 1 Envoyproxy 1 Envoy 2026-10-05 7.5 High
Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy's HttpDatagramHandler caches the current RequestDecoder when Capsule Protocol is enabled. Stream recreation, including an internal redirect, replaces the ActiveStream and updates EnvoyQuicServerStream but does not update the handler's cached pointer. A subsequent HTTP/3 datagram can call decodeData through the freed decoder, causing invalid virtual dispatch and a process crash. The relevant scope boundary is that hTTP/3 datagrams and Capsule Protocol must be enabled, and the request must enter a stream-recreation path such as an internal redirect. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1.
CVE-2026-50572 1 Envoyproxy 1 Envoy 2026-10-05 5.9 Medium
Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy's HTTP external-authorization client can retain a stale request callback after a request is rejected. When RawHttpClientImpl::onSuccess later processes the authorization response, it can invoke callbacks_ after the callback owner has been destroyed, causing a use-after-free and process crash under production traffic. The relevant scope boundary is that the vulnerable path uses the HTTP ext_authz client; the advisory does not establish the same trigger for unrelated filters. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1.
CVE-2026-73513 1 Envoyproxy 1 Envoy 2026-10-05 7.5 High
Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy's optional oghttp2 upstream HTTP/2 codec accepts a response trailer HEADERS frame without END_STREAM. Envoy completes and deferred-deletes the ActiveRequest while oghttp2 keeps the stream open, leaving ClientStreamImpl with a dangling response_decoder_ reference. A later frame on the stream can dispatch through the freed object and crash the process. The relevant scope boundary is that the default nghttp2 codec rejects the malformed trailers, and the trigger is upstream-only with oghttp2 enabled. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1.
CVE-2026-100832 1 Mozilla 2 Firefox, Thunderbird 2026-10-05 8.8 High
Use-after-free in the Graphics: Canvas2D component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17.
CVE-2026-103679 2 Tnef Project, Verdammelt 2 Tnef, Tnef 2026-10-05 6.5 Medium
A flaw was found in tnef. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by providing a specially crafted Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format (TNEF) file containing multiple message bodies. During extraction, improper memory management triggers a use-after-free and double-free condition, causing the application to crash and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
CVE-2026-100784 1 Mozilla 2 Firefox, Thunderbird 2026-10-05 8.8 High
Use-after-free in the Layout: Text and Fonts component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox 157, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17.
CVE-2026-100785 1 Mozilla 2 Firefox, Thunderbird 2026-10-05 8.8 High
Use-after-free in the DOM: Core & HTML component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox 157, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17.

CVE-2026-20536 1 Mediatek, Inc. 1 Mediatek Chipset 2026-10-05 6.7 Medium
In aidl, there is a possible memory corruption due to use after free. This could lead to local escalation of privilege if a malicious actor has already obtained the System privilege. User interaction is not needed for exploitation. Patch ID: ALPS11242428; Issue ID: MSV-9038.
CVE-2026-105517 2026-10-05 8.1 High
A use-after-free vulnerability was found in the 9P protocol implementation of NFS-Ganesha. The server does not protect the lifetime of file identifier (FID) objects when processing concurrent requests. An attacker can race a write operation against a close operation on the same FID, causing one worker thread to free the FID and its associated data while another thread continues to use it. This allows attacker-controlled data to be written into freed heap memory, which can result in a crash or potentially remote code execution. The 9P protocol handler does not implement authentication, so the vulnerability is reachable without credentials by any client with network access to the 9P listener.
CVE-2026-98116 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-03 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: pcm: Serialize PCM mmap with buffer reallocation to fix page UAF snd_pcm_hw_params() and snd_pcm_hw_free() guard buffer reallocation with an mmap_count check performed under the PCM stream lock, but the lock is released long before the buffer is actually freed: snd_pcm_sync_stop(), constraint refinement and do_free_pages() all happen in between. snd_pcm_mmap_data(), on the other hand, takes no lock at all: it validates against the old buffer's state and dma_bytes, remaps its pages into the VMA, and only then increments mmap_count. A concurrent mmap() can therefore slip in between the check and the free. remap_pfn_range() installs writable PTEs for the old buffer's pages without taking page references, and the subsequent do_free_pages() returns those pages to the page allocator while the VMA still maps them. This leaves a stale, writable mapping of freed pages: a page-level use-after-free that can be leveraged for local privilege escalation. Make snd_pcm_mmap_data() participate in the buffer-access scheme introduced for hw_params/hw_free: acquire runtime->buffer_accessing before validating and remapping, and release it afterwards. Buffer reallocation already fails with -EBUSY while accessors are active, and the mmap side now fails with -EBUSY while a reallocation is in progress, so the validate/remap sequence and the check/free sequence can no longer interleave. A reproducer that turns this race into a stale writable mapping of the freed DMA buffer pages is available on request.
CVE-2026-98091 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-03 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: detach failed sprout device from transaction update list When creating the first metadata chunk for a sprout filesystem, create_chunk() adds the new device to the transaction dev_update_list through device->post_commit_list. If the subsequent system chunk creation fails, btrfs_init_new_device() aborts the transaction and releases the device while post_commit_list is still linked. This triggers a warning in btrfs_free_device() and leaves the transaction list referencing freed memory. Detach the device while holding chunk_mutex before releasing it.
