CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: hda: trace PCM open only after assigning a stream
Stream assignment can fail when hardware streams are exhausted.
Move the tracepoint after the NULL check because its payload accesses
the assigned stream tag.
Detected by static analysis and reviewed with AI-assisted source auditing. |
| Tapo C120 v1 and C200 v5
contain a NULL pointer dereference in the HTTPS onboarding connect request parser. The interface is reachable without
authentication after initial setup and does not validate that a password field
is present for certain authentication and encryption parameter combinations,
allowing a malformed request from the same local network to crash the HTTPS service
Successful exploitation may
temporarily make HTTPS management functions unavailable. Repeated malformed
requests may sustain the denial-of-service condition, and recovery may in some
cases require a device reboot. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cachefiles: Fix error return when vfs_mkdir() fails
When vfs_mkdir() fails, the error code is not extracted from the
returned error pointer. This causes mkdir_error to be reached with
ret=0, which leads to returning ERR_PTR(0) (NULL) instead of a
proper error pointer.
Fix this by extracting the error code from the error pointer when
vfs_mkdir() fails. |
| A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the WatchGuard Fireware OS authentication process allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to crash the management daemon by sending a specially request to the login interface, resulting in a denial of service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: cfg80211: don't get the radio mask for netdev-less wdevs
cfg80211_calculate_bi_data() calls rdev_get_radio_mask() with
wdev->netdev, which can be NULL and then crashes in mac80211.
To avoid that, invert the order of checks since wdev->netdev
is always valid for beaconing interfaces. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
perf: Fix null pointer access in is_include_guest_event()
A typical module unload occurring event when there is an active perf
connection leads to freeing of the pmu pointer. The call log is something
like:
..
__pmu_detach_event
pmu_detach_event
pmu_detach_events
perf_pmu_unregister
..
__pmu_detach_event() sets event->pmu to null. When the perf connection
finally is closed, the following stack trace is observed:
Oops: general protection fault, kernel NULL pointer dereference
...
RIP: 0010:_free_event+0x3e/0x370
...
Call Trace:
...
perf_event_release_kernel+0x260/0x2d0
perf_release+0x12/0x20
A call to mediated_pmu_unaccount_event() inside _free_event() is the root
cause of this crash. Adding a check inside is_include_guest_event() ensures
we don't accidentally access a null pmu ptr. In addition to this, we will
now call mediated_pmu_unaccount_event() before clearing the pmu ptr so that
nr_include_guest_events counts are maintained correctly. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: synaptics-rmi4 - fix GPF in suspend and resume when unbound
Transport drivers (such as rmi_i2c and rmi_spi) invoke
rmi_driver_suspend() and rmi_driver_resume() on their child rmi_dev
device during system power management events. However, transport drivers
are fully registered and operational even if the physical RMI driver
failed to bind or probe the rmi_dev device.
When rmi_driver_suspend() or rmi_driver_resume() is called on an unbound
rmi_dev, dev_get_drvdata() returns NULL. Calling rmi_disable_irq() or
rmi_enable_irq() without driver data attached causes a NULL pointer
dereference and General Protection Fault when attempting to lock
data->enabled_mutex.
Fix this by checking if driver data is attached to rmi_dev in
rmi_driver_suspend() and rmi_driver_resume(), exiting early if
no driver data is present. |
| Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy's ext_authz filter assumes that a request contains a :path pseudoheader when applying query_parameters_to_set or query_parameters_to_remove from an authorization response. A path-less CONNECT request makes request_headers_->Path() return null, and Filter::onComplete dereferences that pointer while parsing the query string. An unauthenticated downstream client can crash the Envoy process when the filter and authorization response use query-parameter mutation. The relevant scope boundary is that the deployment must accept path-less CONNECT and configure ext_authz query-parameter mutation. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: mac80211: refuse to make a monitor active when it has no queue
A monitor interface only gets a TXQ if it's created active, and one can't
be added later. Setting the flag on a down interface is still allowed, so
the driver is handed a monitor with no queue. ath9k dereferences it:
BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000066
RIP: 0010:ath_tx_node_init+0x49/0x170 [ath9k]
ath9k_add_interface+0x10c/0x140 [ath9k]
drv_add_interface+0x54/0x250 [mac80211]
ieee80211_do_open+0x32f/0x800 [mac80211]
Reached with CAP_NET_ADMIN by "iw dev X set monitor active" followed by
"ip link set X up". RTNL is held, so netlink operations block behind it.
Refuse the flag when there is no queue to give. |
| If BuildKit daemon is started with --cdi-disabled it can lead to daemon panic when builds try to use CDI devices. This can happen maliciously or by accident. |
| A null pointer dereference vulnerability exists in the Matter SDK (connectedhomeip) before 1.4.0, affecting the ReadRevisionAttribute function used in multiple clusters (Channel, Account Login, TargetNavigator, etc.). The function lacks proper validation of the delegate pointer before dereferencing. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit this issue by sending a crafted read request, causing the device to crash (denial of service). This issue has been confirmed in SDK version v1.4 (commit ab3d5ae). |
| Spoofing issue due to invalid pointer in the Graphics component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 156 and Thunderbird 156. |
| Sandbox escape due to invalid pointer in the Graphics component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 156, Firefox ESR 140.16, Firefox ESR 153.3, Thunderbird 156, Thunderbird 140.16, and Thunderbird 153.3. |
| A NULL pointer dereference in mod_xml2enc in Apache Software Foundation Apache HTTP Server before 2.4.69 on all platforms allows an untrusted backend server to cause a denial of service via a proxied response with a charset whose conversion partially succeeds then fails.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.4.69, which fixes this issue. |
| Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. Prior to 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1, Envoy's ProdClusterManagerFactory::allocateConnPool dereferences transport_socket_options while selecting an HTTP/3 connection pool without first checking whether the pointer is null. LoadBalancerContext implementations used by synthetic, mirror, health-check, and async-client calls can return no transport-socket options. With auto_config and HTTP/3 enabled, routine traffic reaching one of those contexts can crash an Envoy worker. The relevant scope boundary is that the affected branch requires HTTP/3 in the protocol set and a context that supplies no transport-socket options. This issue is fixed in versions 1.36.10, 1.37.6, 1.38.4, and 1.39.1. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: mpi3mr: Fix NULL pointer dereference in mpi3mr_sas_port_add()
sas_port_alloc_num() can return NULL on memory allocation failure. The
return value is passed directly to sas_port_add() without a NULL check,
which causes a NULL pointer dereference.
Additionally, if sas_port_add() fails, the allocated port is not freed
before jumping to out_fail, leaking the sas_port structure. Call
sas_port_free() to properly release it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
watchdog: msc313e: Fix NULL pointer dereference in PM callbacks
msc313e_wdt_probe() doesn't set the driver data for the platform device.
As a result, dev_get_drvdata() in msc313e_wdt_suspend() and
msc313e_wdt_resume() will return NULL, leading to a NULL pointer
dereference afterward.
Set the platform device driver data in msc313e_wdt_probe(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tipc: fix NULL deref in tipc_named_node_up() on empty publication list
User-space applications can bind a large number of service addresses to
one or more sockets. Each binding of a local-scope service address inserts
one entry (publication) into the TIPC name table. If the number of these
publications exceeds TIPC_MAX_PUBL (65535), protocol service types
(such as node state and link state) are no longer inserted into the name
table. This causes two issues:
1. User-space applications subscribing to node or link up/down events
stop receiving notifications.
2. A NULL pointer dereference can occur:
BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 00000000000000d0

... |
tipc_nametbl_publish(); |
If 'tipc_nametbl_publish()' (Thread 1) fails because the number of
local publications reaches TIPC_MAX_PUBL, list (Thread 2) will be empty. As a
result, NULL is passed to 'buf_msg()', leading to a NULL pointer dereference.
Fix these issues by allowing protocol service types (node state, link state,
and topology server) to be inserted into the name table unconditionally.
This ensures that users subscribing to these types always receive
notifications. In addition, the maximum number of local user publications is
reduced to (TIPC_MAX_PUBL - 1). This ensures that the maximum bulk size
calculated in tipc_link_set_queue_limits() remains valid. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: ump: do not touch legacy_rmidi before it exists
snd_ump_parse_endpoint() sets ump->parsed on every exit, including
error, before the caller attaches the legacy rawmidi device.
ump_handle_ep_name_msg() then treats parsed as "legacy_rmidi is live"
and calls ump_legacy_set_rawmidi_name(), which snprintf()s into
ump->legacy_rmidi->name. If a UMP packet arrives in that window
(IRQ path from snd_ump_receive), legacy_rmidi is still NULL
(KASAN null-ptr-deref in snprintf).
Guard the legacy helpers. parsed only means endpoint info was
parsed, not that legacy_rmidi exists. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
bpf: Reject key-less BTF for hash maps
map_check_btf() allows a key-less BTF (btf_key_type_id == 0) only for
maps that have a ->map_check_btf callback, and leaves the actual
decision to that callback. Hash maps used to have no ->map_check_btf,
so a key-less BTF was rejected outright.
That changed when htab and rhtab gained a ->map_check_btf to register a
dtor - htab in commit 1df97a7453ee ("bpf: Register dtor for freeing
special fields") and rhtab in commit 6905f8601298 ("bpf: Allow special
fields in resizable hashtab"). Neither looks at the key, so a key-less
hash map now passes map_check_btf() and gets created. Reading it back
through bpffs feeds the key type_id 0 into btf_type_seq_show();
btf_type_by_id() returns the void type, kind_ops[BTF_KIND_UNKN] is NULL,
and btf_type_show() dereferences it:
