CVE-2026-107216 2026-10-07 7.5 High
Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.8.1 to 2.11.0, ANCHORARRAY recursively calls the exported CalcCellValue function, creating a fresh calculation context at each cycle and bypassing in-flight and iteration controls. ANCHORARRAY calls CalcCellValue instead of cellResolver, so each recursive hop receives a new calcContext and loses cycle state. When mutually referencing dynamic-array formulas are evaluated directly or through formula-evaluating APIs, each recursion hop resets the cycle budget and prevents completion-based caches from breaking the cycle, allowing an attacker to cause a fatal Go stack overflow and abort the process. No fixed version is available as of this review.
CVE-2026-107208 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-10-07 5.3 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55, a crafted XMP profile can reach a recursion limit that is handled as a fatal condition instead of an ordinary exception, terminating the image-processing process. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55.
CVE-2026-106572 1 Imagemagick 1 Imagemagick 2026-10-07 5.3 Medium
ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55, a missing recursion-depth check in the CALS decoder allows a crafted CALS image to exhaust the call stack and terminate the process. This issue is fixed in versions 7.1.2-30 and 6.9.13-55.
CVE-2026-106447 2026-10-07 N/A
StableLib is a stable library of useful TypeScript and JavaScript code. Prior to 2.0.4, the @stablelib/cbor decoder recursively processes nested CBOR arrays, maps, and tags through _decodeValue() without enforcing a maximum nesting depth. A sufficiently deep structure exhausts the JavaScript call stack, causing a decoding exception and potentially terminating an uncaught request worker or process. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.4.
CVE-2026-106449 1 Yawkat 1 Lz4-java 2026-10-07 3.7 Low
yawkat LZ4 Java provides LZ4 compression for Java. Prior to 1.11.4, net.jpountz.lz4.LZ4BlockInputStream configured with stopOnEmptyBlock set to false handles each well-formed empty LZ4Block by recursively calling refill(), allowing a long sequence of empty blocks in an attacker-controlled compressed stream to exhaust the decoding thread's stack and throw StackOverflowError. The default stopOnEmptyBlock setting is true and is not affected, and the issue does not cause memory corruption. This issue is fixed in version 1.11.4.
CVE-2026-103008 1 Elastic 1 Elasticsearch 2026-10-06 6.5 Medium
Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to Denial of Service via a specially crafted request that causes the server to construct and process a deeply nested data structure with no bound on recursion depth. Elasticsearch contains an uncontrolled recursion weakness in how it builds and serializes geometry values produced by scripted runtime fields. Unlike geometry supplied as text, which is subject to a nesting-depth limit, geometry constructed from a script's output is not bounded. An authenticated user with read access to a single index can submit a request defining such a field with a script that produces a deeply nested structure. Processing this request recurses past the available stack space, causing the affected node to terminate. The node does not recover automatically on all deployments and may require manual intervention to restore service.
CVE-2026-102409 1 Elastic 1 Elasticsearch 2026-10-06 6.5 Medium
Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can allow an authenticated user with low privileges to terminate an Elasticsearch node, resulting in denial of service, via Excessive Allocation (CAPEC-130).
CVE-2026-103006 1 Elastic 1 Elasticsearch 2026-10-06 6.5 Medium
Uncontrolled Recursion (CWE-674) in Elasticsearch can lead to Denial of Service via a specially crafted, deeply nested request submitted to the aggregation feature of the search API. Elasticsearch contains an uncontrolled recursion weakness in its search aggregation processing. An authenticated user with read access to a single index can submit a specially crafted request containing deeply nested aggregation definitions. Processing this request triggers unbounded recursive execution that exhausts the server process's available resources, causing the affected node to terminate. The node does not recover automatically and requires manual intervention to restore service.
CVE-2026-102495 1 Apache 1 Xmlschema 2026-10-06 7.5 High
Apache XmlSchema doesn't limit how deeply schema imports and includes can be nested, so a malicious schema can make parsing recurse until the stack overflows. This causes a denial of service. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.3.3, which fixes this issue.
CVE-2026-102496 1 Apache 1 Xmlschema 2026-10-06 7.5 High
Apache XmlSchema doesn't limit how deeply schema structures can be nested when it builds its schema model, so a malicious schema can make parsing recurse until the stack overflows. This causes a denial of service. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.3.3, which fixes this issue.
CVE-2026-102497 1 Apache 1 Xmlschema 2026-10-06 7.5 High
The Apache XmlSchema walker (xmlschema-walker) doesn't detect cycles in type derivation, substitution groups, model groups or attribute groups. A malicious schema with such a cycle can make the walker recurse until the stack overflows, causing a denial of service. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.3.3, which fixes this issue.
CVE-2026-92564 1 Apache 1 Qpid Broker-j 2026-10-05 7.5 High
A pre-authentication attacker could leverage type nesting to cause a StackOverflowError potentially leading to denial of service. This issue affects Apache Qpid Broker-J: through 10.1.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 10.1.1, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-103600 1 Legion Of The Bouncy Castle Inc. 1 Bc-csharp 2026-10-04 N/A
Uncontrolled recursion in the ASN.1 parser (Asn1InputStream, Asn1StreamParser) in Legion of the Bouncy Castle Inc. bc-csharp before 2.7.0 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service via a crafted ASN.1 encoding of deeply nested constructed elements (for example SEQUENCE inside SEQUENCE, in definite-length DER or indefinite-length BER form), because each nesting level is parsed by a further recursive call with no bound on depth. About 2,000 levels (8 KB of DER) are enough to exhaust a 1.5 MB thread stack, the .NET main-thread default on Windows, and raise a StackOverflowException, which .NET cannot catch and which terminates the whole process; on threads with larger stacks, parse time instead grows quadratically with depth (about 9 seconds of CPU for a 64 KB input). Any path that parses untrusted ASN.1 is exposed, including X.509 certificates and CRLs, CMS/PKCS#7, PKCS#8/PKCS#12, OCSP and TLS Certificate messages.
CVE-2026-96288 1 Apache 1 Thrift 2026-10-04 N/A
Uncontrolled Recursion, Allocation of resources without limits or throttling vulnerability in Apache Thrift Erlang bindings. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-96289 1 Apache 1 Thrift 2026-10-04 N/A
Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability in Apache Thrift PHP bindings. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-66858 2 Apache, Redhat 2 Thrift, Hummingbird 2026-10-04 7.5 High
The protocol skip routine in several Apache Thrift bindings did not apply the binding's recursion limit, so a message that nests unknown fields deeply enough can exhaust the stack. Affected: the Python C++ accelerator (the pure-Python protocols are not affected), the PHP library and its thrift_protocol extension, and the Perl, Lua, Smalltalk and OCaml libraries. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-89796 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-03 N/A
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/damon/core: avoid infinite kdamond_merge_regions() internal loop Patch series "mm/damon: unurgent fixes for infinite loop, NULL de-ref and races", v1.1. Sashiko found a few issues in DAMON that could cause infinite loop, NULL dereference and monitoring results degradation. The first two sounds scary but the infinite loop happens only under unreasonable user setup. The NULL dereference is only in a unit test. Monitoring results degradation is trivial since it is only best-effort, and those happens from only unlikely races. Still those are bugs that better to fix if possible. Fix those. This patch (of 6): Due to online parameter update like events, the number of DAMON regions could be higher than the user-set upper limit. kdamond_merge_regions() repeats merge regions until the number meets the limit, while doubling the merge threshold up to the theoretical maximum threshold. It is tried only up to the theoretical maximum threshold because even the aggressive merging can fail from reducing the number of regions under the user-defined upper limit. For example, there could be many user-defined non-contiguous regions that cannot be merged. The threshold based loop break condition is evaluated by comparing the threshold for the next merging try against the theoretical maximum threshold. If max_thres is larger than UINT_MAX / 2, doubling the threshold could make it overflow, and bypass the loop break condition. In the case, if the number of regions cannot be reduced under the upper limit like explained above, the loop will run infinitely. Prevent the case by doing the break condition check before doubling the threshold. Also, prevent the threshold exceeding the maximum threshold, as it could overflow and apply the wrong merge threshold. This issue is unlikely to occur in real world, since having the max_thres higher than UINT_MAX / 2 require unrealistically large aggregation intervals compared to the sampling interval. Also, it requires an unrealistically large number of uncontiguous regions setup. Nonetheless, the consequence is bad and the fix is simple. The issue was discovered [1] by Sashiko.
CVE-2026-83663 1 Apache 1 Thrift 2026-10-03 7.5 High
Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability in Apache Thrift go bindings. Both Go transports satisfy a read out of a buffered frame and, when that frame yields no payload bytes, read the next frame and call `Read` again instead of looping. A peer produces such a frame for 4 bytes in `TFramedTransport` (a declared size of zero) or 18 bytes in `THeaderTransport` (a header block that fills the frame), so nothing bounds the depth. The Go stack limit is reached as a `fatal error`, which `recover()` cannot catch, so the whole process dies. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
CVE-2026-104020 1 Amazon 1 Ion-python 2026-10-02 7.5 High
Uncontrolled recursion in the Ion reader in Amazon Ion Python before 0.15.0 might allow a remote unauthenticated actor to crash the application using the library, resulting in a denial of service, via a crafted, deeply nested Ion value. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 0.15.0 or later.
CVE-2026-94650 2 Apache, Redhat 2 Thrift, Hummingbird 2026-10-02 N/A
Uncontrolled Recursion vulnerability in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings. This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue.
